Associate Professor Lars G. Hanson from DTU Healthtech teaches the principles of Magnetic Resonance to Chinese students.
DTU Healthtech Associate Professor Lars G. Hanson is frequently in Asia to teach and present his research in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), through scientific collaborations with Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and as a teacher at the Neuroscience and NeuroImaging MSc education program of the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research
En route to a conference in Seoul in September, Lars made a stop at Jilin University in Changchun, China, to visit and give a scientific presentation to the College of Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering. During his visit, the opportunity arose to also introduce two local engineering classes to MRI during an intense day of teaching a total of 180 students.
In the top photo, the local organizer Prof. Ling Wan and her class of students are seen together with Lars after lectures. Judging from the enthusiasm of both the students and Lars, it was a great success.
Below, Lars is in action before a class of undergraduate students. On screen is seen the educational CompassMR simulator, a tool developed by Lars for students to explore the physical principles behind Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. It is available as Android app at Google Play and now also at Huawei AppGallery.
Afterwards, Lars continued to Seoul to give an invited speech on "Low-frequency MR Current Density Imaging in the Human Brain" at the
5th International Workshop on MRI Phase Contrast 25-28 September 2019, arranged by the Korean Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
