Hasan Hüseyin Eroğlu has joined Center for Magnetic Resonance.

Hasan comes to DTU from an Assistant Professor position at Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bartın University, Turkey. He did his PhD thesis on Induced Current Magnetic Resonance Electrical Impedance Tomography (MREIT) with Low Frequency Switching of Gradient Fields.

At DTU, Hasan will work with Assoc Prof Axel Thielscher's team on novel reconstruction methods for MREIT, as part of a larger project aiming to improve Transcranial Direct Current Simulation (TDCS) of the human brain by means of accurate computational dose control.

The overarching aim in the project is to leverage the team's recently developed MREIT methods and FEM models of the TDCS-induced electric fields to quantify the physical stimulation strength of TDCS in the brain at the individual level. The aim is to use this knwoledge to assess dose-response relationships for TDCS in order to optimize the physiological stimulation outcome.

The project is a collaboration with Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance at Hvidovre Hospital, the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the MR Center of the Max-Planck institute for Biological Cybernetics. Hasan will carry out his work from both DTU Health Technology and Hvidovre Hospital in a shared position.

The project is funded by Lundbeck Foundation.
